Concept contextual transition
While at Noto Architects, I worked on the transformation of a terraced home in Balham for a young couple expecting their first child. Their vision was to create a light-filled family space at the heart of the house — a generous kitchen and dining area where daily life could unfold together.The design was driven by a commitment to soft, minimal, and elegant detailing throughout. A key architectural move was the treatment of the roof structure: by developing an extremely minimal detail, we were able to conceal the thickness of the roof in elevation. This created a clean, uninterrupted line that feels both refined from the garden and graceful within the interior.The result is a modern yet welcoming family home, where carefully considered details enhance both the atmosphere and daily life.
