This was a unique commission, as two neighbouring clients approached us simultaneously to extend and remodel their adjoining London terraced houses. The concept was to create a pair of “floating” brick volumes that extended the existing outriggers on either side. By introducing new sloping brick infills, we were able to conceal a network of steel beams and achieve the desired visual effect. The clients’ brief focused on maximising natural light in the main living areas while tailoring each home to their individual needs. At No. 28, this included a small internal garden adjacent to a dedicated music room, adding a bespoke and highly personal touch to the design. On this project, my role centred on developing drawings, construction details, and custom design elements in close collaboration with my two directors, who led the client-facing and project management aspects of the scheme. This experience gave me the opportunity to work on a distinctive and highly tailored design approach while strengthening my technical and detailing skills.
